The power of the mind

At 59 my mind has never been sharper and even as the inevitable physical disadvantages of age creep in, I so value the headspace I am in today. There is unquestionably more power in our mental state because I have seen people who have so much physical prowess and yet suffer so much. Conversely some of the most disabled people find joy and happiness within limitations you would think would deflate their ability to be happy and at peace.

I don't bemoan the aging process because each decade has brought more self confidence and life experience has taught me how to avoid pitfalls I can now see coming at a distance.

Life should be lived with grace and an understanding that we are finite. Every day should be cherished as a gift and every painful experience as a teaching moment towards improving our outlook on it.
