Labeling yourself is only important when it comes to determining what your own course of action should be. For example, if you are someone with very strong dysphoria and are downplaying it, then you may be denying yourself treatment options which would help you. In my own journey of self understanding I tended to deny that my dysphoria was as powerful as it was and, as a consequence, suffered more than I need have. Comparing myself against other trans people as well as investigating the literature, permitted me to finally find a personalized course of action to suit my own needs.

So while you can call yourself what you like, it is important that you not overplay or underplay dysphoria such that your formula brings internal peace resulting in that being trans does not become an all consuming obsession and your response is proportional to your needs.

When you find it, you'll know it.
