1917 is gritty and graphic and beautifully shot. There is an urgent and harrowing mission to prevent a blood bath and an oath to be kept for a dead friend. It is also an up close and personal view of the needlessness of war.

Highly recommended.

  1. I bought it at the tail end of 2020 and really enjoyed it. It's got some lovely moments and raw ones! Also, reasonably historically accurate (especially in ways one would not expect if one is Laurence Fox). Heck of a film. Echoing your recommendation!
