With equal aplomb

If one thinks about it, love should be about connectedness with another's mind rather than a consolation to being alone. After all, the human can find contact outside of the romantic which invariably tends to take on less importance as one ages. What remains is an openness to become intertwined with the spirit of another being even as both are replete with imperfection.

This is why the best pairings morph beyond pragmatic concerns and challenges and, even as the pheromones have long dissipated, find ways to share both joy and sorrow with equal aplomb.

Something which one does not find everyday.
