Why Write a Blog?

I originally began writing to help myself with the biggest challenge of my life but realized that by sharing my thoughts I could help others at well. There is strength to be gained in understanding the paths others have taken and learning from their experience. I had been reading about this topic since my early teens and, at that time and for many years after, sought to cure myself of what I was certain was a self created problem. It turns out that I was wrong.

My problem was not comprehending that gender dysphoria is a condition one is born with and which can only be grappled with through the path of self acceptance. Writing this blog helped me immeasurably and I hope you find some value here.
Some of my life journey from denial to acceptance is laid out here; a journey which has taken several decades and progressed from viewing my being trans as an illness to understanding it as just another way of being.

In life integrity counts a lot more than popularity. After all popularity can imply having notoriety with people who we do not respect. Being popular with the masses can sometimes mean having watered down quality which is hardly a badge of honor.

Having integrity as a trans person means conducting yourself in a manner which values self respect which was the tone I wanted to set in writing this blog. It wasn't a vehicle for entertaining or self pity but instead an honest search for answers.
